Chang’an University Library held a seminar about Smart Library on Sep. 14^th. Zhao Wenyi, the director attended the seminar. Zhao Dan, the deputy director attended and chaired the seminar. While, 5 staff of Chaoxing Co. Xi’an attended the seminar.

Zhao Wenyi said that the construction of smart library is the key work of our library. We have attached great importance to application of new technologies in the library's literature management, reading promotion and service extension for a long time. Nowadays, intelligent products emerge in an endless stream, but what the libraries really need is the applications can be used into practice, and service for the readers indeed as well.

Zhao Dan said that the rapid development of artificial intelligence has been carried out in the field of libraries. However, the training of artificial intelligence is a long-term process, and its development is worthy for followed by libraries, and its application in resource integration, intelligent retrieval and intelligent reading is worthy of expectation.

The staff of Chaoxing Co. Xi’an described the development status of smart library industry, based on the aspects of discovery system, library management system, and future knowledge center construction. They showed the functions of intelligent translation and reading in the Chaoxing discovery system. Then they introduced the new features and functions of the LSP. Their company explored in the construction of smart library with the data sharing for systems. They hoped that they can do some specific efforts for the libraries services.
